German violinist Franziska Pietsch, Turkish violist Atilla Aldemir, and Israeli cellist Hila Karni form the international string trio, based in Germany.

All three musicians, coming from different cultures, are each on their own varied and shifting artistic paths in concert life.

Three personalities imbued with exceptional characters share their passion for chamber music and cultivate their individuality while maintaining the ensemble's homogeneity. This creates a unique mixture of temperament, compelling performances, and sparkling soloistic presence.

The Trio Lirico was founded in 2014 in the formation: Franziska Pietsch, violin, Sophia Reuter, viola and Johannes Krebs, cello. It was soon able to successfully establish itself in concert life.

To mark the centenary of Max Reger's death the trio recorded their debut album on the audite label in 2017.

Another release featuring works by Weinberg, Schnittke, and Penderecki also received enthusiastic reviews from the international specialist press and was nominated for the ICMA and the German Record Critics' Prize 2020.

At least since its debut in the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, numerous world premieres have been dedicated to the trio. (Georg Christoph Biller, Thorsten Encke, Wolfgang Schultz...)

The trio performs an extensive repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary works. The integration of string duos into the trio programs gives the concerts additional charm.

As part of NEUSTART KULTUR, the Trio Lirico received generous funding for a CD production featuring an unconventional repertoire.

In addition to compositions by E. Ysaye and E.v.Dohnanyi, they are delighted to be the first to record Peter Eötvös' string trio.

The CD will be released in early 2024.

There have been two line-up changes since it was founded: Hila Karni became the ensemble`s cellist in 2020, and Atilla Aldemir, since August 2023 is the violist of the Trio Lirico.
